Benin City, Edo State – In a significant step towards boosting the state’s entertainment infrastructure, Governor Godwin Obaseki, alongside global music icon Rema, performed the groundbreaking ceremony for the new Edo Arena.
The 6,000-capacity venue, aptly named ‘The Dome,’ is set to rise at the former Garrick Memorial School Ground on Ekenhuan Road. Spanning approximately 5 hectares, The Dome is envisioned as a premier entertainment hub, poised to host a variety of events ranging from concerts and national conferences to symposiums and large gatherings.
This development is expected to attract more visitors to Edo State, showcasing its rich cultural heritage and creating numerous employment opportunities for the youth.
Governor Obaseki expressed his gratitude to Rema for his participation, highlighting that the association of such a renowned artist with The Dome elevates the project to a global scale.
