…minister warns Rivers State governor against defying court rulings, urges respect for rule of law.
The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has strongly criticized Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, for allegedly defying a court judgment. Wike issued the warning during an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today.
Wike cautioned that disobeying court orders could lead to chaos and a breakdown of law and order. “The moment you don’t obey court judgments, you are inviting anarchy and violence,” he stated.
The minister also accused Fubara of publicly declaring on national television that he would not comply with the court’s ruling. Furthermore, Wike criticized his successor’s comments on police involvement in providing security for local government elections in Rivers State.
Wike urged the governor to respect the rule of law, emphasizing the risks of undermining legal authority.
