Monday Okpebholo announced his intention to probe the non-inauguration of 14 House of Assembly members from 2019. This decision comes despite the fact that the matter was conclusively settled in court years ago, leaving many to question the governor’s priorities.
Instead of focusing on governance and addressing the pressing needs of the state, Okpebholo seems intent on revisiting old issues. The people of Edo State deserve a leader who is committed to serious work, not one who is distracted by political vendettas. The focus should be on delivering the promises made during the campaign and improving the lives of Edo citizens, not on rehashing settled disputes. It is imperative that he shifts his focus to governing effectively and addressing the needs of the people.
It is time for Monday Okpebholo to prove that he is capable of leading the state forward, rather than dwelling on the past.
