Benin City, Edo State – Crusoe Osagie, Media Adviser to the immediate past Governor of Edo State, Godwin Obaseki, has issued a statement criticizing the newly sworn-in administration of Governor Monday Okpebholo. Osagie accused the current government of resorting to falsehoods and propaganda to tarnish the legacy of the former governor.
In his statement on Wednesday, Osagie claimed that the Okpebholo-led administration has been making baseless allegations against Obaseki to divert attention from their own lack of plans for the state’s development. He emphasized that despite these attempts, Obaseki’s achievements and policies remain evident and appreciated by the people of Edo State.
Osagie stated, “The recent statements from the Okpebholo administration are filled with lies and propaganda. They claim to be fighting thuggery and cultism, yet these issues persist under their watch. Notably, individuals with questionable backgrounds hold significant positions in the current government.”
He further alleged that the administration’s efforts to address cultism have been ineffective, citing an increase in cult-related violence since the new government took office. Osagie also dismissed claims about recovering government vehicles, suggesting that these vehicles are in the possession of associates of the current administration.
