The Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, has felicitated with Muslims on the celebration of Eid-el-Kabir.
In a statement, the governor urged the Muslim faithful to imbibe the lesson of sacrifice which the Eid-el-Kabir symbolizes.
He said, “I felicitate with our Muslim brothers and sisters on the celebration of the Eid-el-Kabir festivities. As we join our Muslim faithful to mark this auspicious celebration, I urge everyone to imbibe the lesson of sacrifice that it symbolizes. Beyond personal convictions, we all have a deeper and greater responsibility to God and humanity.
“Eid-el-Kabir offers us another opportunity to rededicate ourselves to our beneficent Creator, and reinforces the virtues of patience, tolerance and love.”
Obaseki noted, “These times, demand that in our struggle to build a better nation, we are united and join hands across ethno-religious inclinations to work for our collective progress.”
He assured, “We are collaborating very closely with our security operatives to ensure our Muslim faithful enjoy a peaceful celebration, as we all pray for a safer and more prosperous Nigeria.”
