The Edo State Ministry of Arts, Culture, Tourism and Diaspora Affairs under the able leadership of the Honourable Commissioner Prince Bamidele Obaitan is taking tourism sector in the state to a greater heights in line with Governor Godwin Obaseki MEGA Agenda.
Tourism is one of the most prominent and fastest growing industries in the world, research has it that tourism industry generated more than USD 7.8 billion in value, which accounted for 9.8 percent of global Gross hence the Honourable Commissioner is currently on a tour, visiting monuments and tourist sites in Edo North Senatorial District with a view of having on the spot assessment and proffer ideas on how to boost our tourism sector in Edo state.
Edo State is blessed with numerous culture and tourist attraction sites, in Making Edo Great Again the Prince Obaitan led tourism ministry believes that the development of these centres will attract products and services, encouragement of sustainable environmental friendliness as well as the creation of employment opportunities (both direct and indirect), hence he is living no stone unturned in harnessing the hidden tourism treasures.
The Honourable Commissioner, Prince Obaitan who is currently on a tour, has so far visited various sites which include; Etsako West L.G.A. Secretariat, Arafat Mosque Auchi, Edo University, Uzairue, Etsako East L.G.A. Secretariat, Agenebode Water Side, Etsako Central L.G.A. Secretariat, Oghodoghodo cave, Fugar, the Palace of Olokpe of Okpe other places visited are Filani hotel in Ososo, Ojah clay pot, Ojirami dam and Somorika crave and hill, at the time of filling this report, the Honourable Commissioner and his team were live at the great Ososo Town moving from the Rocky area to the undulating topography and green vegetation.
