It was celebration galore as the Principal Assistant Social Welfare Officer in the Department of Social Welfare, Ministry of Social Development and Gender Issues (MSDGI), Mr. Peter Osayuware Edomwandagbon, marked his official retirement from the Edo State Public Service after 33 years of meritorious service without blemish.
The event organized by the Ministry, which coincided with his 60th birthday celebration, took place on Friday, July 22, 2022, at the Conference Room of the Ministry’s Headquarters, Secretariat Complex, Benin City.
While showering encomium on the celebrant, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Social Development and Gender Issues, Mrs. Barbara N. Osobajo, said the retirement party organized by the Ministry for Mr. Edomwandagbon is in recognition of his dedication to work in the Edo State Public Service.
On his part, the celebrant, Mr. Edomwandagbon expressed gratitude to the management and staff of the Ministry for celebrating him at age 60, and his successful retirement from the Service.
Sharing his story in the Service, he said: “This laudable journey started on the 14th day of December 1989 with my appointment as Assistant Social Welfare Officer on Salary Grade 07 and I have through hard work, commitment and dedication to duty rose to Salary Grade Level 13 at retirement, I am indeed very grateful to God for making this possible.
“It is my prayer that as you have taken time out of your very busy schedules to celebrate this occasion with my family and me; celebration, peace, joy and happiness shall not cease in your households.”
He also expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the Edo State Government for the wonderful opportunity given to him to serve.
The family of Edomwandagbon and Staff of the Ministry turned out in their numbers to say farewell to the retiring Principal Assistant Social Welfare Officer.
