The Edo State Government has given a directive on the cessation of all development/building activities in the areas covered in the 1229 hectares of land along the Irhirhi-Obazagbon-Ogheghe Road.
In a statement, Commissioner for Communication and Orientation, Chris Osa Nehikhare, said: “The directive is effective across the portions marked A, B, C and D in the area repossessed by the state government. Area marked A is the Ogba River Forest Reserve.
“The state government has commenced data collection of victims of land grabbers in the area, as officials of the Edo State New Town Development Authority (ESNTDA) have set up an office in the site to capture and entertain the complaints.”
He added that victims are expected to come to the site with their documents including building approvals; 2 Passport Photographs; Proof of Identity; Title Documents; approved registered Survey Plan; Photocopies of all originals to be tendered as originals will just be sighted and returned while Letter of Authorisation must be signed by the client for those representing clients.

The state government enjoined members of the public to comply with its directives as it intensifies efforts to protect lives and property of citizens of Edo State.
