Public schools in Edo State are set to resume on Monday, following the conclusion of the gubernatorial elections. The state government announced that all state-owned primary and secondary schools will reopen their doors to students after a brief closure due to the electoral process.
The Commissioner for Education, Dr. Joan Osa Oviawe, confirmed the resumption date in a statement released on Sunday. She emphasized the importance of students returning to their academic activities promptly and assured parents and guardians that necessary measures have been taken to ensure a smooth transition back to school.
Dr. Oviawe also highlighted the government’s commitment to maintaining a safe and conducive learning environment, urging school administrators and teachers to adhere to the established guidelines and protocols.
The brief hiatus allowed for the peaceful conduct of the elections, and the government is now focused on ensuring that educational activities continue without further interruptions.
