To further display the Edo State Government’s commitment to the wellbeing of the aged and elderly in the State, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Social Development and Gender Issues (MSDGI), Mrs. Barbara Nekpen Osobajo, led Directors and Staff of the Ministry to the 100th birthday celebration of Madam Alice Ali-Isu.
Speaking at the centenarian’s birthday at her residence in Benin City, the Permanent Secretary congratulated the celebrant and applauded the family for their care.
Mrs. Osobajo noted: “We are celebrating you today because you are a very special person; a remarkable Mother, Grandmother, Great-grandma and more that you have been to all around you, for these 10 decades of amazing memories.
“I pray that almighty God will grant you health and strength to continue serving God and humanity.”
She added: “Care for the aged and elderly is at the heart of this Government’s Social Enhancement pillar, hence Governor Godwin Obaseki’s approval for the State Policy for Senior Citizens.”
Madam Alice Ali-Isu who turned a centenarian on June 12, 2022, was surrounded by her family as she received best wishes from the management and staff of the Ministry of Social Development and Gender Issues on her remarkable milestones.
