The Edo State Government has issued a caution to the impeached Deputy Governor, Philip Shaibu, emphasizing the importance of adhering to existing laws. This warning follows Shaibu’s recent inspection of the Radisson Hotel site in the Government Reserved Area (GRA) of Benin City.
Crusoe Osagie, the Special Adviser on Media Projects, released a statement urging Shaibu to avoid actions that could disrupt governance and to respect legal protocols. Osagie noted that while Shaibu, like any private citizen, is free to visit the state’s notable projects, he must ensure his actions remain within the bounds of the law.
Osagie stated, “We advise both Philip Shaibu and the security agencies to refrain from any activities that contravene legal and constitutional provisions. Shaibu should await the Appeal Court’s decision on his case and learn to respect the rule of law.”
The government also reassured Edo State residents of its commitment to safeguarding lives and property, encouraging them to continue their lawful activities with confidence in the state’s legal protections.
