Speaker, Edo State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Blessing Agbebaku has led other members of the 8th Edo State House of Assembly to pay a courtesy visit to the state police commissioner to introduce members and synergize to forge a common front in the area of security of lives and property in the State.
Speaking on behalf of other members, Rt Hon Blessing Sheriff Agbebaku congratulated the Police Commissioner on his elevation and stated that as custodians of the people there is the need to work with the Security agency towards guaranteeing more peaceful coexistence in Edo state.
Rt Hon Blessing Agbebaku said the members of the 8th Assembly are from different constituencies including rural areas in dire need of policing, maintaining that members are ready to work with him from the state command of the police to divisions at the grassroots level.
Mr Speaker, promised continued logistic support and urged other members to key into same emphasizing that they would always talk to the people back home to give necessary information to security agents to help in their activities of securing lives and property.
The Speaker assured the police Commissioner of the resolve of the 8th Assembly to ensure the lives of Edo people who elected them to officers are constantly safe and secure.
In his response the state Commissioner of Police, Mohammed Adamu Dankwara said he came to Edo state to achieve zero tolerance to crime and criminality.
CP Dankwara said he has often told all criminal elements in the state to relocate stressing that this has yielded positive results with boundaries of the state becoming a safe haven , with the support of local vigilantes and hunters.
He appealed for more information and cooperation from the populace in ensuring adequate security of lives in the state.
CP Dankwara urged the House of Assembly members to report any Police officer working contrary to laid down rules and regulations to him or any of his management team ,as the State Command will not tolerate any wrong behavior from any of his officers.
