A highly secretive wedding between Senator Monday Okpebholo and Jennifer Lamai, a Los Angeles-based CEO and investor, who hails from Auchi in Edo state, has been unexpectedly called off just days before the ceremony. The wedding, which was scheduled to take place in Los Angeles on January 25, 2025, had been shrouded in mystery, with invitations sent out without revealing the groom’s identity.
Sources indicate that Okpebholo got cold feet and decided to cancel the wedding, leading to significant financial losses for the couple and their guests. The abrupt cancellation has left many invitees, especially those who traveled from Nigeria, disappointed and frustrated.
Okpebholo’s media adviser has denied any involvement of the governor in the planned wedding, insisting that the governor was not getting married.
