The Special Adviser to Edo State Governor on Media Projects, Crusoe Osagie, has said the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state has been so out of touch with governance and the people of the state and will fail again in the forthcoming 2023 general elections.
Osagie, in a statement, urged the party to retreat from telling lies against a performing government led by Governor Godwin Obaseki and do a thorough and deep soul-searching with the hope that they will recover in time for the 2027 general elections.
He said, “The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Edo State has recently been on a frenzy looking for lies to tell in a feeble attempt to give themselves a chance in the forthcoming general elections.
“The opposition in the state has become comatose, has no real issues to bring to the electorate in their argument and quest for the people’s mandate because they have been so out of touch with governance and the people.
“The best they can do is to get some of their ill-equipped scribes to stitch tissues of lies against a performing government led by Governor Godwin Nogheghase Obaseki.”
Osagie continued: “In telling these lies, they have moved from the outright preposterous to the absolutely absurd, telling shameless and unintelligent lies that even an eight-year old can see through.
“But the time is up for the APC and there is no coming back from the failure and shame that await them, particularly in Edo State and other parts of the country in the forthcoming 2023 general elections.
“My advice to the Edo APC is that they tow the noble path and accept that in Governor Obaseki, they met a politician whose experience in board room, prior to coming to politics, set a standard that they obviously lack the intellect to rout.”
The governor’s aide further advised, “As for the remaining years of Governor Obaseki’s administration, as well as the forthcoming general election in Edo and perhaps in any other state in the country, the APC must admit that they have lost this one. They should retreat, go and do thorough and deep soul-searching and hopefully they will recover in time for the 2027 general elections.”
