Edo State lawmaker Natasha Osawuru has found herself at the center of a media storm following allegations surrounding a gift she gave to Nigerian music icon 2Baba. The controversy began when 2Baba was seen wearing traditional beads, which some claimed had spiritual or diabolical connotations. The situation escalated when 2Baba’s mother publicly expressed concerns, urging Natasha to remove the beads.
In response, Natasha clarified the origins and significance of the beads during an interview. She explained that the beads are traditional ornaments symbolizing royalty and were gifted to her by her family. One of the beads, she noted, was a pearl necklace originally given to her grandfather by the late Queen of England when he was knighted. Natasha emphasized that the beads are purely cultural and hold no spiritual or “juju” significance.
The lawmaker also addressed the broader allegations against her, stating that she is not active on social media and is largely unaware of the rumors circulating online. She expressed her commitment to her career and dismissed the claims as baseless.
