….sets up committee to meet Ojezua
The leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Esan Central LGA chapter, has unanimously adopted Barr. Asue Ighodalo as the sole aspirant for the coming governorship primary of the party. This was inline with the resolution of the Edo Central Caucus of the party.
In a meeting conveyed on Saturday by the leader of the party in the local government, Senator Clifford Ordia, the leaders of the party adopted the position of the Senatorial District Caucus. Senator Ordia told the gathering that the leadership of the party at the senatorial level has given directives that Barr Asue Ighodalo be adopted as the sole aspirant of the party. He said that as a loyal and faithful party man, he has never been an agent of division. He informed the leaders that he decided to obey the decision taken by the Senatorial District Caucus and stepped down his ambition and support Barr. Asue Ighodalo so that the party in the Senatorial District can speak with one voice.
Delivering a message from the governor, His Excellency, Godwin Obaseki, to the leaders, Special Adviser to the governor, Hon. Mrs Herberta Okonofua-Ayu, said that the governor is eternally grateful to the PDP for giving him a platform for his second tenure. She said that the governor is determined to ensure that the party is united so that it can record a resounding victory in the coming governorship election in the state. Mrs Ayu said that the governor is depending on Edo Central Senatorial District to return the massive votes it gave the party during the last election in 2020.
Some leaders observed that Barr. Anslem Ojezua, a foremost leader in the local government, has picked the nomination form. They advised that a high powered delegation be sent to interface with him with a view of having a consensus position. This was agreed to by the leaders.
The leaders later adopted the report from the Senatorial District Caucus as presented by the party chairman, Apostle Mathew Ebhotiemen. It was decided that Esan Central LGA will give Barr. Asue Ighodalo its maximum delegates during the primary. All leaders present consented to the decision.

Emma Agbale, Sidney Oseghale, members of the LGA executive committee, 8 ward chairmen, elected councilors, members of the executive committee of the council and 2 leaders from each ward
