As part of the policy and it’s effort to further improve the educational sector in the state as one of it’s too most priorities, the Edo state government is currently recruiting senior secondary school teachers.
While speaking to EICO Media in Benin City, the Honourable Commissioner for Education, Dr. Joan Osa-Oviawe said that the Computer Based Test (CBT) exams for over 5000 applicants have been conducted, more than 3000 are being interviewed now (at the time of the interview), she added that another 2500 applicants will be invited next week to write their computer based test (CBT), she concluded that this first phase of recruitment, 3000 EdoSTAR Teachers are going to be recruited and will undergo training in the month of August before school resumes in September.
It is worthy of note that the previous government sacked over 800 teachers in 2013 thereby creating a huge shortage of man-power in the state educational sector.
