The University of Benin, UNIBEN and the Edo State owned Ambrose Alli University AAU Ekpoma have commended a Benin based human rights lawyer and Principal Head of Signature Chambers, Olayiwola Afolabi Esquire for his supports towards the advancement of law faculties in Nigeria.
The commendations were contained in two separate letters issued by the institutions in appreciations of the lawyer’s gestures at different occasions towards raising future lawyers.
Professor Violet Aigbokhaevbo, the Dean of the faculty of Law, UNIBEN personally wrote a letter on behalf of the faculty in receipt of recent donations of wigs and gowns to students and other numerous supports rendered to the faculty by Olayiwola Afolabi Esquire popularly known as Otunba.
In the letter, she thanked the legal luminary for providing wigs and gowns for the best graduating students and past Executives of Law Students Association that have gone to the Nigerian Law school as well as the sponsorship of indigent law students.
“On behalf of the entire staff and and students of the faculty of Law, University of Benin, UNIBEN, we say thank you for all your supports towards the advancement of the faculty by providing wigs and gowns for the best graduating students and past Law Students Association Executives that have gone to the Nigerian Law school, sponsorship of indigent law students. We are indeed grateful for your kind gesture” Prof. Aigbokhaevbo appreciated.
Authorities of Ambrose Alli University AAU, Ekpoma on the other hand wrote a similar letter in acknowledgement of receipt of wigs and gowns to best male and female final year Students of the faculty by Barrister Olayiwola Afolabi.
The appreciation was conveyed in a letter signed by Principal Assistant Registrar of the faculty on behalf of the Dean, Prof. A. O. O Ekpu which was made available to Wikirise reporter in Benin City.
The letter reads in part, “Iam directed by Prof. A. O. O Ekpu, Dean, Faculty of Law to acknowledge the receipt if your letter and the two sets of new wigs and gowns donated to the faculty for best male and female final year Law students of the faculty of Law, Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma.”
Recall Barrister Afolabi had donated the wigs and gowns in honour of Senior Advocate of Nigeria, SAN, Chief Kola Okeaya-Inneh’s 85th birthday.
The beneficiaries are male and female final year Law students for 2019/2020 academic year, namely; Okechukwu Chigbogu Kennedy (male) and Ogagaworia Josephine Was (Female)
