Edo State is gearing up to host the seventh edition of the Alaghodaro Investment Summit, a prominent platform for showcasing a wide array of transformative investments in key sectors that are pivotal to the state’s growth.
This year’s summit, scheduled to run from November 8 to 12, is poised to provide a crucial avenue for investors to evaluate investment opportunities, assess their influence on the local economy, and explore opportunities for expanding their commitments to the State.
Eire Ifueko Alufohai, the Chairperson of the Local Organizing Committee and Executive Secretary of Alaghodaro Economic Summit Limited/Gte, shared insights into the summit’s theme: “The Edo Story: Creating Shared Opportunities into the Future.” This theme reflects the State’s vision to foster shared prosperity and drive economic growth.
One of the summit’s primary objectives is to spotlight pivotal investments that have contributed to the economic transformation of Edo State. Key among these investments are two modular refineries located within the State, which represent a significant milestone in Nigeria’s energy sector. Additionally, the Edo Oil Palm Programme (ESOPP), designed to revitalize palm oil production, and the Ossiomo Power plant, a pivotal component of the State’s energy infrastructure, will be showcased.
The Alaghodaro Investment Summit has evolved into a symbol of Edo State’s commitment to becoming a thriving economic and industrial hub. It is anticipated that the event will attract distinguished individuals from various sectors, both private and public, who share an interest in investment and economic development within Edo State.
Eire Ifueko Alufohai emphasized that the 2023 edition of the summit marks the final celebration under the leadership of Governor Godwin Obaseki. It includes the Edo Women Conference, Ancient City Tour, Cocktail, Alaghodaro Summit, Muslim Prayers, Award and Dinner, Governor’s Golf Tournament, Food Fair, Youth Concert, and a Thanksgiving Service.
