Independent National Electoral Commission, popularly known by its acronym, INEC, restated its commitment to providing free, credible, and fair electoral outcomes, even as the 2027 general election preparations start.
According to officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission, the reform measures under way include bettering voter registration systems, electoral technology, and making the electoral processes at the polling units transparent.
During a stakeholders engagement, the commission highlighted that to achieve peaceful elections, cooperation between political parties, law enforcement, and civil society must be facilitated.
INEC again reaffirmed its commitment to making electoral laws and overcome difficulties that were experienced in previous elections.
The promise is made in the wake of a growing interest in reforms in elections by the citizens.
