Benin City, Edo State. Thursday February 5 – Senator Monday Okpebholo has announced the immediate suspension of the Chairman of the Edo State Local Government Service Commission, Hon. Damian Lawani, and the Honorable Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Hon. Samson Osagie Ph.D. This action follows allegations of serious official and financial infractions against the two appointees.
According to the statement released, the suspensions are intended to allow for a comprehensive investigation into the allegations without any hindrance. Senator Okpebholo has ordered the formation of an Investigative Committee to thoroughly examine the claims and provide appropriate recommendations based on their findings.
According to the statement released, Samson Osagie and Damian Lawani will remain suspended until the conclusion of the investigation. The government has assured the public that the investigative process will be conducted with full transparency and due diligence to ensure accountability and integrity within the administration.
