Benin City, May 21, 2025 – The political tension in Edo State has reached a boiling point as the appeal court reserves judgment in the legal battle between the PDP and the APC over the governorship election victory of Senator Monday Okpebholo.
The PDP, through its legal team, has challenged the credibility of the election, alleging irregularities and procedural violations. In contrast, the APC insists that the election was conducted fairly and transparently. After hearing arguments from both sides, the court decided to withhold its verdict, stating that it needs more time to thoroughly examine the case before making a final ruling.
Meanwhile, both parties and their supporters remain on edge, awaiting the court’s final pronouncement.
With the judgment hanging in the balance, the people of Edo State eagerly anticipate the decisison of the Appeal Court.
