The Edo State Government has commenced the recruitment of professionals into the Edo State Primary Health Care Development Agency (EDSPHCDA), as part of ongoing reforms to strengthen the delivery of affordable and quality healthcare in the state.
Some of the health professionals being recruited are Medical Doctors, Health attendants, Medical Laboratory technicians, Pharmacy technicians, Medical Records technicians, Community Health Extension Workers, and Nurses/Midwives.
In a statement made available to journalists in Benin City, the government said, “Applications are hereby invited from suitably qualified Candidates to fill vacancies in the following Posts in the Edo State Primary Health Care Development Agency. Candidates for the posts must possess the required qualifications, experience, and skills specified below:
“Medical Doctors, Health Attendant, Medical Laboratory Technician, Pharmacy Technician, and Medical Records Technician, Community Health Extension Workers, and Nurses/Midwives.”
“Interested Candidates should apply by visiting http://psrecruitment.edostate.gov.ng/ and completing the online Application Forms. All applications must be submitted within two (2) weeks from the date of this Publication,” the statement read.
The Governor Godwin Obaseki-led administration is undertaking a holistic reform of the healthcare system, focusing on primary healthcare. The government has introduced changes that ensure that the people are better served, guaranteeing that healthcare is reliable, affordable, and accessible.
The Edo State Government under the leadership of Governor Obaseki has revamped over 50 Primary Healthcare Centres (PHCs) across the state, fitted with technology and powered with solar energy to ensure minimal downtimes, and transferred staff from the Ministry of Health to the Edo State Primary Healthcare Development Agency.
The government is progressing with its vision of building one standard primary healthcare centre in every ward in Edo with well-trained staff and technology before 2024.
