The Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, on Saturday, paid a condolence visit to the family of late Dennis Evbuomwan, a bosom friend and political ally of the Governor.
The Governor who was received by the father of the late Dennis Evbuomwan, Pa Evbuomwan, his brother, Architect Frank Evbuomwan and other members of the family, said: “We are here to pay our condolences to Daddy and all members of the Evbuomwan family.
“Dennis was my friend and brother, we practically grew up together under you (referring to Pa Evbuomwan) and we know your disposition towards him and your other children and family members.
“We know this is not the kind of news you expected at this time, but as a believer we can’t question God Almighty. We know we all did all we could to keep him alive but it was God’s wish and we thank him for Dennis’s life.
“We are here to say we feel your pain and as members of the family, we will do what we have to do with other family members during the burial rites. We are here to pay our most sincere condolences to you and please accept my condolences”.
In his response, Pa Evbuomwan said: “Your presence evokes in me a feeling of appreciation to you. People don’t know how close we are but we know ourselves and you grew up in my hands. I am cut to the bottom with Dennis’s death. When a young man dies, no one knows the reason, but like you said, I console myself with the experience of Job in the Bible and that God gives and takes.”
Also speaking, the former Managing Director of EdoGIS, Arch. Frank Evbuomwan, said: “On behalf of Festus Evbuomwan family, we thank you for coming to commiserate with us. Dennis was not only a friend to the Governor but a strong member of his party.
