The Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, on Tuesday, joined other guests at the commendation service of Mrs. Rosemary Ebudayo Uanseoje, to pay his last respects to the late matriarch who died at the age of 72.
The governor was accompanied by his wife, Betsy and the Commissioner for Mining, Oil and Gas, Hon. Ethan Uzamere, among other top government functionaries.
Speaking with journalists at the commendation service in Benin City, Governor Obaseki described late Mrs. Rosemary Ebudayo Uanseoje as a devoted Christian and committed Edo daughter who contributed greatly to the development of the state’s healthcare system.
He said, “She is a good Christian and somebody who worked for God and her community. She has contributed so much to her family, the society, state and nation at large.
“As a nursing officer and teacher, she was so devoted and committed to her job all through her nursing career. She was among those who contributed in a great way to the development of our healthcare system in Edo State.
“She will continue to be a shining example to us in the public service,” the governor noted.
Earlier, Ven. Osaze Usunalele, in his sermon, titled, “What will you be remembered for,” charged Christians on the need to live a selfless and exemplary life.
Usunalele stated, “The late Rosemary Ebudayo Uanseoje was full of good and charitable works until the end of her life. We are remembering her today, even in death, for her good deeds.
“We all should be prepared for death because it will come one day. We should ensure that we live our life well and leave a good name behind.”
