The Federal Government has restated its commitment to improving Nigeria’s power sector, citing ongoing reforms aimed at increasing electricity generation, transmission, and distribution nationwide.
Officials from the Ministry of Power said efforts are being intensified to address challenges such as aging infrastructure, power losses, and inadequate supply to consumers. The government also highlighted ongoing investments in renewable energy and grid expansion projects.
According to the ministry, collaboration with state governments and private sector players remains central to achieving sustainable power supply. Recent initiatives include support for off-grid solutions and rural electrification projects.
Energy experts have welcomed the renewed commitment but emphasized the need for consistent implementation and regulatory stability. Consumers continue to express concerns over frequent outages and rising electricity costs.
The government assured Nigerians that reforms underway are designed to deliver gradual but lasting improvements.
