The Federal Government of Nigeria has unveiled a new plan aimed at supporting Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) across Nigeria, in a bid to stimulate economic growth and job creation.
The initiative, according to officials, will provide access to low-interest financing, business development support, and digital skills training for entrepreneurs. The government noted that SMEs remain a critical driver of the Nigerian economy.
A spokesperson said the program would prioritize youth- and women-led businesses, especially in sectors such as agriculture, technology, and manufacturing.
Business owners have welcomed the announcement but stressed the need for transparent implementation and easy access to funds. Analysts say effective execution could help reduce unemployment and strengthen local production.
