A British mother-of-three, Victoria Hart, has been killed in her home in southern Spain, with her ex-partner arrested on suspicion of murder.
The 33-year-old was attacked on Saturday morning in Alhaurin el Grande, Malaga. Spanish authorities confirmed that her former partner handed himself in shortly after the incident and is currently in custody.
Police said one of Hart’s children raised the alarm by seeking help nearby. The couple were reportedly in the process of separating, and local media indicated the suspect had previously been subject to restraining orders.
Spanish officials also confirmed that Hart was registered under Spain’s VioGen system, which monitors and protects women at risk of domestic or gender-based violence.
Investigations are ongoing as authorities continue to gather evidence surrounding the incident.
