Rt. Hon. Marcus Onobun, Speaker of the Edo State House of Assembly, has sent a congratulatory message to Senator Francis Asekhame Alimikhena who represents Edo North Senatorial District in the red chambers of the National Assembly, Abuja, on his emergence as the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) flagbearer for 2023 general elections.
The Speaker described Senator Alimikhena’s emergence as the PDP’s candidate as a huge plus for the party and a show of confidence in his ability to deliver the dividends of democracy to his constituents.
“Distinguished Senator Alimikhena you got to the senate in 2015 and your good representation earned you a return to the red chambers in 2019 for a second tenure. Having done so well your constituents were looking set for your return to the senate for a third tenure in 2023 before some mischievous elements in the All Progressives Congress(APC) started their usual game of making very wrong aspersions just to bring you down and stop your trajectory.
“To God be the glory that the PDP having recognised your impactful representation gave you the opportunity to go forth with your good deeds.
“Sir, you can only go higher and higher in all your endeavours. And it is sure that you will surpass your past records when you return to the red chambers in 2023 on the platform of the PDP, Africa’s largest political party.
“My prayer is that, God give you renewed strength to carry on with your known habit of impacting positively on the lives of your people.”
