At the basic education level, there exists School-based Management Committees.
In addition to establishing the SMB, beginning in the 2022/2023 academic year, the MoE will launch School Ranking. There is need to know which schools are succeeding and which ones are failing. LGAs will also be ranked based on their schools’ performance. The rankings include Basic education (Primary, Special Education Schools, Adult Education Centers, JSS), Senior Secondary Schools, Technical and Vocational Education Schools (TVET) and Private schools.
Edo State Ministry of Education is inviting community service-driven individuals at home and in the diaspora to consider sitting on the Board of any public Senior Secondary School of their choice.
