The Edo State Commissioner for Youths and Humanitarian Affairs, Hon. Chris Osa Nehikhare, has maintained that the administration of Governor Godwin Obaseki is committed to the safety and security of residents.
Nehikhare made this assertion in Abudu, headquarters of Orhionmwon Local Government Area, during the Edo Youth Boot Camp, as part of events aimed at aligning youth-based projects across all sectors of the State.
The Commissioner, who acknowledged the positive disposition of the participants who turned up early for the event, assured them of the State Government’s commitment to their safety and security.
He revealed that officials of the Department of State Services (DSS), the Police, and men of the Edo Security Network were adequately deployed to guarantee security of lives and property in and around the camp.
According to Nehikhare, fire service men gave fire safety tips and a rapid COVID-19 test was carried out on the participants.
In his words, “Out of over 200 participants who were tested, one was positive. He was dropped and advised to proceed to the Stella Obasanjo Hospital for treatment.”
He listed the games available in the camp facility to include table tennis, darts, chess, scrabble, monopoly, amongst others.
