Back in November 2021, Governor Obaseki received a letter of approval from the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria, for Edo state College of Nursing Sciences.
The Provost of the college, Mrs Pat Ukaigwe, said the college will partner with a top nursing university in New Jersey, Fairleigh Dickinson University, and will work hand in hand with them. In fact, she said the certificate from the our very own Edo College of Nursing will also read Fairleigh Dickinson University.
The current ongoing, extensive collaboration of the state government and doctors from America offering free medical services to residents of the state, gives you an insight as to how important getting quality and accessable health care is to the governor.
As the governor priotises health and is bringing Primary Health Care Centres closer to the people, he has also equipped the College of Nursing Sciences with world class facilities like a CBT room, a 300 seater auditorium, medical labs, wards, hostels and more.
The present/next generation of Edo nurses are being given quality training and education at an unprecedented level.
The current health reform in the state we are witnessing is the first of its kind in the history of Edo state.
