The Commissioner for Health, Dr Samuel Alli has expressed the readiness of Edo State Government to maintain a continued partnership with USAID, for the benefit of its people.
The Commissioner who made this disclosure while receiving the USAID team, led by Angela Agwalye in his office in Benin City, appreciated the partners for their projects and support towards the people of Edo State, appealing to them to provide the Ministry with more data in order to help the State organize intervention programs.
Earlier, Angela Agwalye, the USAID team lead, thanked the Commissioner for the opportunity granted them to be in the Ministry, adding that their visit was to formally introduce all the USAID funded projects to the State Government.
Angela Agwalye further explained that the meeting afforded USAID the opportunity to intimate the State Government on projects which commenced few year back, adding that the team was in Edo State to look into ongoing transition programs and to understand the status of the transition programs which USAID had taken over.
The team lead stated that her team would provide immediate support and guidance to ensure there is no interruption in HIV treatment services that were being provided within the HIV key population programmes in Edo State, asserting that, with the new key population programme, the USAID is funding four projects in Edo State.
